Why is Solar Power So Important?

Installing solar panels is becoming more and more popular for many reasons. Over the past thirty years solar energy technology has improved quite a bit. With this improvement solar panels have become more accessible to everyone. This means that the average homeowner can greatly reduce their impact on the environment by using this renewable resource.
Most people do not realize that their energy consumption has such an impact on the environment. If the average homeowner installed a one kilowatt solar panel system it would save 300 pounds of CO2 from being released into the air and 170 pounds of coal every month.
Well even if you do not care about the environment maybe you care about your utility bill. Solar energy can reduce or even eliminate your electric bill. Solar power cost is still a little high, but its an investment just like your house, car, or anything else you put your money into. Solar panels add value to your home and their environmentally friendly. If you really want to reduce solar power cost a do it yourself kit may be your best option.
Solar energy is an abundant renewable resource that would allow homeowners energy needs to be self sustained. By 2040 one of the major oil companies predicts that 50% of the worlds energy will come from renewable resources. At some point fossil fuels will run out and all we will have is renewable resources.
If more people transition from fossil fuels to renewable resources it will help the planet and put money into research and development of renewable resources. Which will in turn create better technology and reduce solar power cost.
So why is solar energy so important? Solar panels allows the average person to meet their energy needs without a huge impact on the environment. So you can save money in the long run and help protect the planet. Solar power is still a new technology that will get better with time, but as of today the installation of a solar energy system is still a viable option for everyone.
