Solar Panels: An Eco-Friendly Way to Generate Solar Power for Home

Solar energy is the form of energy that is received from the sun and then converted into electricity by some mechanical source for home use. As the time is progressing, there is a huge increase in the level of carbon in the atmosphere. Also, more and more people are complaining about the high electricity bills. To combat this problem, solar panels come as a rescue. These are mechanically built devices which receive and convert solar energy into electricity. Made using silicon, they capture sunlight directly from the sun. Being a metalloid, silicon is a great conductor of electricity and solely responsible for converting solar energy to electricity in solar panels.
How are silicon panels made?
Solar panels are made from 3D points, which are crystalline silicon products, the amorphous solar panels and the crystalline silicon panels. In case of crystalline silicon production, the silicon is melted and cut, after that it is named as poly crystalline silicon or the mono crystalline silicon. In crystalline second panels, silicon is broken into pieces, then sliced and lastly doped with a doping material to increase its conductivity. In case of amorphous silicon panels, the silicon layers are combined with multi-layered cells to increase the energy production.
Made using silicon element, photovoltaic cells are the semiconductors, prepared using sand and then built into large chips. PV material has PN junction that comprises positive and negative ends. When sun rays fall on it, the positive and negative terminals allow flow of charges and produce electricity. As per the space, it can be used for producing large amount of energy as well as small amount of energy as in street lighting.
Innumerable Advantages
By using solar power for homes, you can save a lot of money as energy from the sun is absolutely free. Furthermore, government also offers financial incentives for solar power systems. As it does not require any fuel, you need not to worry about the sky touching rates of gasoline. The best advantage is that it is environment friendly. Solar energy is extremely clean, renewable, and hence, helps in minimizing the carbon level. It doesn't releases harmful effluents such as carbon dioxide, sulphur oxide, mercury or nitrogen oxide, thus there is no contribution toward global warming, smog or acid rain. Along with minimizing your bills, it also supplies power in case of power outages or blackouts. It doesn't require any power or gas grid to operate, thus it can be installed at any remote place. By reducing the dependence on foreign sources, it contributes to a sustainable future. With the use of solar power for homes, you not only benefit yourself but also contribute to the greener environment.
